“Still, you’ll be awed by Ellsworth and his brilliant ability to use his cello as multiple instruments by bowing, plucking, striking the strings or playing the bloody thing sideways like a guitar!”
“...TJ Anderson, Alex Ellsworth, Rachel Guth and Amanda Raquel Martinez — are all talented and charming and, in a couple of spots, their harmonizing under musical director Nick Sula is really beautiful. You want to spend more time with these folks, especially given the pleasures of the music...”
““I was truly blown out of the water when I checked out a double bill of Tedium and Other Sensations at The Neo-Futurists. So innovative, unsettling, and clever in transforming a space and preconceptions of what performance can be.””
The Silver Hour EP
by Alex Ellsworth with Zach Good, Matt Smalligan, Zach Moore and Amanda Bailey
This release contains four snapshots from a larger performance project that weaves together original songs, ambient improvisation, and arrangements of music by other artists. The silver hour is the inverse of the golden hour, the time when the moon sets. These songs grew from the metaphor of this potent transition from night to morning.
